Following the breakout success of the award-winning film, ‘Afamefuna: An Nwaboi Story’, Come On Naija has unveiled its next major feature: ‘Iwé Àlà’ (The Book of Dreams). a drama that draws its narrative power from the rich pageantry of the Ojúde Ọba Festival.
The announcement was made by executive producer Olawumi Fajemirokun during a special session at AFRIFF 2025, where she confirmed that principal photography begins in November.
Fajemirokun described ‘Iwé Àlà’ as a natural evolution for the studio after ‘Afamefuna’. She said:
“Iwé Àlà is a groundbreaking ode to the heart of Ojúde Ọba,” commented Fajemirokun. “We are taking everything we learnt after the success of Afamefuna and applying it to a narrative that celebrates one of Nigeria’s most enduring and beautiful cultural festivals. This film is not just a story; it’s an immersive experience designed to showcase the vibrant heritage, fashion, and profound communal spirit of the Ojúde Ọba.”

Producer Kenechukwu Egbue added that the project reflects Come On Naija’s commitment to telling indigenous stories with scale and authenticity. “Ojúde Ọba is one of the most colourful festivals with a rich cultural and religious history, and Come On Naija is well positioned to showcase these elements to the world in a way not told before,” he said.
Set in Ijebu and culminating in the grandeur of the Ojúde Ọba Festival, ‘Iwé Àlà’ promises a grounded, character-driven celebration of tradition and community.
Further details about the cast, story, and production team will be announced in the coming months.
