Moses Babatope Hails ‘Áfàméfùnà’ as Kayode Kasum’s Best Film, Reveals December 1 Release Date

Film enthusiasts and industry insiders alike were treated to a special revelation at the recent FilmOne Entertainment Year-End Exhibitors Showcase when they got a sneak peek at the upcoming movie, ‘Áfàméfùnà: An Nwa Boi Story.’ Directed by Kayode Kasum and featuring a stellar cast including Stan Nze, Alex Ekubo, Kanayo O. Kanayo, and Atlanta Bridget Johnson, the film promises to be a captivating cinematic experience.

Set in the heart of Nnewi in Anambra State, the film unfolds the tale of a genial billionaire, Afamefuna Okoli, and his radiant wife, Amaka. The couple hosts a lavish funeral party to honour his deceased father. However, in the midst of this grand celebration, the unexpected arrival of officers from the Nigeria Police adds an intriguing twist to the story.

Director Kayode Kasum expressed his belief that this film will make Nigerians proud. The movie’s narrative, deeply rooted in the cultural tapestry of the country, is expected to resonate with audiences, offering a unique viewing experience.

Moses Babatope, the Group Deputy Managing Director of FilmHouse Group, shared his thoughts on Kasum’s new film, calling it one of the best films he has ever seen. He highlighted the movie’s ability to convey the message of transcending divisions and making something out of oneself, emphasising the importance of unity and self-realisation.

“This is the best of us,” Babatope stated. “In my opinion, this is Kayode Kasum’s best-directed film.”
