Anthill Studios’ children’s musical drama ‘Temi And The Labalaba Band’, which first debuted on the Anthill Family YouTube channel on April 19, 2025, will now reach an even wider audience through a strategic partnership with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Beginning Saturday, May 24, episodes will air at 9:30 a.m. on NTA’s free‑to‑air network service to over 80 million viewers nationwide.
The series follows 10‑year‑old Temi, a clever and determined girl who rallies her friends to save her grandmother’s beloved buka from eviction. Each 30‑minute instalment combines live‑action storytelling with original musical interludes and mouth‑watering glimpses of Nigerian cuisine.
Directed by Akinmolayan and Dolapo Adigun based on a script from showrunner Moyo Larmie, the show stars Temisola Ajamolaya, Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga, Khaira Bashir, Joshua Ameh, Bryan Ndukwe, Tunbosun Aiyedehin, and Master Lee. It also features appearances from Blessing Nze, Kelechi Udegbe, Miriam Peters, and Emeka Nwagbaraocha.

“We’ve had an incredible response on YouTube—our fifth episode just premiered on May 17,” said Akinmolayan, founder of Anthill Studios and executive producer. “Partnering with NTA lets us bring Temi’s adventures into living rooms across the country, not just online.”
Anthill intentionally launched ‘Temi And The Labalaba Band’ on YouTube to build grassroots support before moving to television. “Our first season spans 13 episodes,” Akinmolayan notes, “so families can binge on Saturdays or catch up online.”
While the studio’s long‑term vision includes animated spin‑offs and merchandise, the immediate goal is straightforward: leverage NTA’s reach to introduce Temi’s message of creativity and community and teach positive values to millions more young viewers.
