Prime Video Announces the Release of “Beyond The Veil” in Nigeria

Prime Video, Amazon’s global streaming service, has closed a licensing agreement with Naila Media for “Beyond The Veil”, an exclusive television series inspired by the everyday life of liberal Northern Nigerian women created by Nadine Ibrahim (Marked; the Documentary) and Sifa Asani Gowon (Sons of the Caliphate).

The Series follows the life of five women living in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city As they manage work, love, family, and friendship. “Beyond The Veil highlights the beauty of Arewa fashion, lifestyle, and tradition while also drawing attention to social issues like polygamy, drug abuse, gender-based violence, illicit relationships, and unsteady family dynamics. It does this by showcasing the depth and diversity of Northern culture.

Nadine Ibrahim, the show’s creator, claims that “Our show is a story about women, told by women. The cast of “Beyond The Veil” was meticulously chosen so that each member properly embodies the role that they were cast to play. Their diverse personalities, as well as their connections to family, society, and religion, serve to highlight the intricacy of the relationships that women have with one another. The plot captures the relevant realities Arewa women in Abuja and Nigeria as a whole deal with today.

Jemima Osunde, Maryam Booth, Norah Ego, Ummi Baba Ahmed, Ame Aiyejina, Norbert Young, Habiba Zock-Sock, Yakubu Mohammed, Rikadawa Rabiu, and Caleb Richard are among the actors who appear in the series. Dija, the musical princess of Northern Nigeria, also makes a stunning appearance.

From March 2nd, 2023, Beyond The Veil will be exclusively available on Prime Video in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Nigeria.
