I thoroughly enjoyed this.
It had everything a good story needed to have. A lot of surprises (Agemo; childlessness, the covenant). I liked that there were things you already knew would happen but were still patient to watch them unravel and still found them enjoyable.
I really loved the use of Yoruba in this film; especially showing how one word can have several meanings depending on its intonation. The beauty of our language is that we say things with proverbs and idioms a lot.Show more
Finally, every film used to have a lesson/message. That’s how the Yoruba films I watched as a kid were, and Jagun Jagun had that too.
I couldn’t give this a 10 because I recognise it’s not perfect.
The choreography and stunts were not believable. The most obvious one was when the coffin was submerged, but Gbotija’s face wasn’t. Haha.
Albeit, a well made film.
I love the plot twist of agemo, I wasn’t expecting that
Great story line, fantastic actors, and an amazing crew,
And from the way it ended, I expect a Jagun Jagun II.
