Far from home is such a breath of fresh air in Nollywood. Here we get to see what I’d think is a coming of age story on the protagonist Ishaya bello, and the gains and pains of following ones dreams to you and those you love. The plot is set in lagos Nigeria at wilmer academy. This is where the heart of the story springs and we get to enjoy the life and times of ishaya bello, his sister Rahila bello. The cool kids Atlas and Carmen(high school king and queen), Reggie (the handsome but subtle jock) and Carmen’s bestie Nnenna. Also we get to see Ishaya’s friends Frank and Zina. Nice work Inkblot & Netflix! This was a good one.

But in an attempt to make the film really “up to standard” it became more like watching a Hollywood college movie rather than a Nollywood secondary school movie. Which is not bad, just not as relatabale to most Nigerians.

All in all, really enjoyable

A movie that surpassed my expectations. The suspense, curation of music and screenplay was good.
