Osas Ighodaro is adding a new title to her name: producer. The actress and media personality has taken on the role of executive producer for two upcoming FilmOne releases, ‘3 Cold Dishes’ and ‘Colours of Fire’, both set for release later this year through her company, Imuetiyan Productions.
In ‘3 Cold Dishes’, directed by Asurf Oluseyi, Ighodaro stars alongside Wale Ojo, Ruby Akubueze, and Femi Jacobs. The film follows three women from Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and Benin who reunite two decades after surviving human trafficking to execute a carefully planned revenge against the men who once destroyed their lives. It’s a tense and emotionally layered drama that stretches across borders, exploring themes of justice, pain, and solidarity.
Her second production, ‘Colours of Fire’, directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, takes on a different scale entirely, an epic that blends love, mythology, and power. The story follows a warrior sent to hunt a beast believed to have been unleashed by rival clans, only to uncover a forbidden connection that could either unite or doom their worlds. The film features Uzor Arukwe, Mercy Aigbe, Gabriel Afolayan, Femi Branch, and Ighodaro in a lead role.
Together, the two projects show a clear creative range, one rooted in real-world trauma, the other in grand folklore. More importantly, they reflect a broader shift in Nollywood, where actors are taking greater ownership of storytelling, moving into production to influence what gets made and how.
For Ighodaro, producing is a natural evolution. Her company’s name, Imuetiyan, drawn from her Edo heritage, translates to “patience is a virtue”, a fitting phrase for anyone choosing to build in an industry still learning how to sustain its own momentum.
