Kayode Kasum and Atlanta Bridget Johnson Reunite for ‘Fractured’ Premiering at AFRIFF 2025

Kayode Kasum and Atlanta Bridget Johnson have teamed up once again for ‘Fractured’, their third collaboration and Kasum’s latest dive into psychological storytelling. The film will make its official debut at the 2025 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), with a free screening scheduled for November 5 at the Landmark Centre in Lekki, Lagos.

‘Fractured’ opens with a violent home invasion that upends the life of Tosin Aigo, played by Atlanta Bridget, a high-profile Nigerian CEO. In the aftermath, Tosin’s grip on reality begins to slip as she confronts fractured memories, personal guilt, and the version of herself she’s worked hard to bury.

The film’s central idea—captured in its haunting tagline, “The mind breaks before the body does”—anchors its exploration of trauma, survival, and how power often conceals emotional vulnerability. Through Tosin’s unravelling, ‘Fractured’ questions what happens when success and control collide with buried pain.

This is the third time Kasum and Johnson have worked together, following earlier projects like ‘Afamefuna’ and ‘Reel Love’. The film also features Uzor Arukwe, Shaffy Bello, Toke Makinwa, Tope Tedela, Daniel Etim Effiong, Chico Rocks, Tolu Babs, and Lexan Peters in supporting roles.

Behind the camera, ‘Fractured’ brings together a familiar team from Kasum’s creative circle. It is produced by Tolu Babs and Muyibat Nti for Triple M Pictures, with FilmTribe Media as production consultants. The screenplay is written by Darth Coal, and cinematography is handled by Oluwamuyiwa Olugbenga Oyedele (Mr Movies)

With its layered look at memory and control, ‘Fractured’ signals Kasum’s continued interest in stories that move between personal crisis and social commentary. Its AFRIFF premiere positions it among the Nigerian titles exploring psychological themes within the broader frame of contemporary African cinema.
