In a career-defining moment, Burna Boy delivered a landmark performance to a sold-out crowd of 80,698 at the iconic Stade De France in Paris—making him the first African artist to headline the 100,000-capacity venue. But it wasn’t just the music that left fans stunned.
At the closing of the show, the superstar turned the spotlight on his next creative chapter: filmmaking.
To roaring applause, Burna Boy unveiled an exclusive teaser for 3 Cold Dishes, the upcoming thriller marking his debut as a film executive producer. The surprise screening capped the night with cinematic flair, drawing gasps and cheers from fans as the teaser lit up the stadium screens.
The film, directed by AMVCA winner Asurf Oluseyi and co-produced through Asurf Films and Burna Boy’s Space Films—a production company he co-founded with his mother and manager, Bose Ogulu—explores the dark and gripping world of sex trafficking across borders.
The Pan-African project, created in partnership with Nexthought Studios, Ifind Pictures (France), Black Mic Mac (France), Martian Network (The Netherlands), and Alma Production (Cote d’Ivoire), began production in 2023 and features a cross-continental cast including Wale Ojo and Osas Ighodaro. (Ighodaro is also co-producing through her Imuetinyan Production).
Speaking exclusively to Nollywire, director Oluseyi revealed that the decision to screen the teaser in Paris wasn’t just about spectacle—it was strategy.
“The idea came collectively from me and Space Films,” Oluseyi said. “For a film like 3 Cold Dishes, a bilingual (French and English) production with Burna Boy as executive producer, it made perfect sense to leverage his influence in Paris. Even though we aren’t releasing the teaser publicly just yet, we felt this was the right rollout move to give his fans in Paris a taste of what’s coming.”
The move followed a private screening in Lagos attended by Burna Boy and his mother.
“He was so excited, he kept shouting, ‘Let’s start planning the sequel NOW!’” Oluseyi recalled. “We later did a private screening with his mum, Mrs Ogulu, and her reaction was just as powerful. That sealed it—showcasing the teaser in Paris became a no-brainer.”
While the teaser remains under wraps for the general public, Oluseyi shared that exclusive first looks are now being circulated privately within the industry. “Safe to say, something big is cooking,” he teased.
With 3 Cold Dishes, Burna Boy is not just making history on stage—he’s planting his flag in global cinema.
