“Marry Me Again”: Bikiya Graham-Douglas and Bucci Franklin’s Playful ‘Remi and Nneoma’ Exchange

‘Remi and Nneoma’ co-stars Bikiya Graham-Douglas and Bucci Franklin sit down with Nollywire, and before anything else, they slip into character and give a full performance.

“You are the embodiment of God’s masterpiece,” Bikiya begins, leaning fully into the moment. “Marry me again.”

“You have me already,” Bucci replies, without missing a beat.

It sets the tone for a conversation that never quite stays in one place, moving easily between acting, improvisation and something that feels a little more real.

Even when asked to rate each other’s outfits, the exchange turns into playful exaggeration. “100 over 10,” Bikiya says. Bucci returns the energy just as easily, the two of them feeding on each other’s rhythym.

But the tone of the conversation shifts when asked what the most romantic thing someone can do is; the performance drops away.

For Bucci, it’s in the “little things”: words, gestures, the small effort that often goes unnoticed.

Bikiya says it’s simpler and more direct.

“Making me feel safe,” she says. “To be completely myself and know that it’s okay.”

Like director Lyndsey Efejuku told Nollywire of ‘Remi and Nneoma’, the exchange holds both lightness and weight at once, which we saw in past conversations between Tina Mba and Kelechi Udegbe as well as Martha Ehinome and Charles Born.

The Five2 Entertainment’s Nigerian retelling of the biblical story of Ruth and Naomi begins showing exclusively in cinemas on June 26, 2026, and it is distributed by Nile Entertainment.
