Ewo…..
Had our legendary actors, had good actors in Bimbo Ademoye and Damola Ademola, but lacked the punch.
The love story was dragged and too fast at the same time, the scens where the legendary actors were in the parlour were too long !
this mvoie could have been shorter and then maybe focused more on the tradition of abobaku, which i felt would hav been a great marketing ploy for this film. It wasn’t emphasized early enough. It could have been introduced in a very strong way to guide us so we are more invested in the love story.Show more
I also feel like the chemistry between the cast could have been stronger, and the scene where Bimbo’s friend played by Osereme was weak becasue she did nott quite sound Yoruba.
A bit of time looking over the plot, the story , the flow and the edits could have made this much better.
Ewo, a story that follows the consequences of defying the traditional customs, after the death of a king, highlighted by the act of his wife absconding with his body. I liked the cinematography and the beautiful location where the story was set. However, these were the only things I could hold on to that made me happy. But everything else felt truly disappointing, despite having no expectations. The story, the storytelling, the performance, the costumes, the continuity, the sound and dialogue, and the lack of certainty regarding the period. It truly was an unpleasant experience.Show more
