New Media Conference Turns 10 and is Looking to the Future of African Digital Culture

New Media Conference Turns 10 and Sets its Sight on Elevating African Digital Culture

The New Media Conference (NMC) will mark its 10th anniversary on September 25, 2025, at The Podium in Lekki, Lagos. The conference, which has become a regular fixture in Nigeria’s digital calendar, will also host satellite editions in Nairobi and Accra, its second time in Kenya and its first-ever event in Ghana.

Founded in 2015, by Tosin Ajibade, popularly known as Olori Super Girl, NMC has served as a meeting ground for professionals across media, technology, and marketing to explore how digital tools are shaping communication, culture, and commerce in Africa. Over the years, it has welcomed creators, entrepreneurs, executives, and emerging voices navigating an evolving media landscape.

This year’s theme, “A Decade of Disrupting New Media: Shaping Africa’s Future,” reflects the conference’s dual focus on looking back and looking ahead. While there will be moments of reflection, the 2025 edition is positioned as a forward-facing event, exploring what the next decade of digital innovation might hold.

To mark the milestone, NMC is launching a new initiative: the NMC 100, a list that will spotlight 100 individuals and organisations that have shaped Nigeria’s digital media space over the last 10 to 15 years. From content creators and marketers to platform builders and community organisers, the list aims to acknowledge the range of players influencing how Nigerians connect and communicate online.
