Filmhouse Deepens Ties with AFRIFF to Strengthen Africa’s Film Ecosystem

Filmhouse Group, one of Africa’s leading media and entertainment companies, has renewed its partnership with the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), reinforcing its commitment to the continent’s creative economy. The 2025 edition of AFRIFF runs from Sunday, November 2, to Friday, November 7, and opened with the highly anticipated premiere of ‘3 Cold Dishes’.

As AFRIFF’s official cinema and distribution partner, Filmhouse Group continues to play a central role in developing Nigeria’s film infrastructure and expanding the reach of African stories through its three arms: Filmhouse Cinemas, FilmOne Entertainment, and FilmOne Studios.

“AFRIFF remains a vital platform for celebrating the evolution of African storytelling,” said Kene Okwuosa, the Group CEO. “Our collaboration reflects a shared vision for a self-sustaining film ecosystem that empowers creators, attracts investment, and connects African stories to the world.”

During the week-long festival, the group’s executives will join panels and workshops on film financing, co-production, distribution, and emerging technologies. The company will also host networking sessions and industry experiences, including the Filmhouse Group Lounge.

“AFRIFF was born from the belief that Africa’s stories deserve equal visibility and investment on the global stage,” said Chioma Ude, Founder and Executive Director of AFRIFF. “Partnerships like ours with Filmhouse bring that vision closer to reality, amplifying voices, building futures, and preserving the soul of African storytelling.”

The renewed collaboration highlights the group’s enduring role as a catalyst for creativity, collaboration, and growth within Africa’s evolving film ecosystem.
