At the premiere of ‘Onobiren,’ filmmaker Laju Iren’s debut theatrical feature, media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo made his first appearance in a cinema-released feature film as part of the cast.
Best known as the host of the interview series #WithChude, Jideonwo’s participation marks a transition from his work in documentary and media storytelling to acting in a narrative film.
The movie was directed by Famous Iraoya, written and executive-produced by Laju Iren, explores themes of womanhood, faith, and identity within Nigerian society. The ensemble cast includes Ruby Akubueze, Patience Ozokwo, Deyemi Okanlawon, Bisola Aiyeola, and Norbert Young.
For the premiere, Jideonwo wore an outfit combining contemporary styling with traditional Niger Delta elements, in line with the evening’s cultural theme.
‘Onobiren: A Woman’s Story’ makes its way across Nigerian cinemas starting on the 6th of March, 2026.
