One of Africa’s biggest creative showcases is back! Entertainment Week Africa (EWA) returns to Lagos from November 18 to 23, 2025, transforming the city into a playground for filmmakers, fashion designers, comedians, and storytellers from across the continent. Now in its latest edition, the six-day event promises a vibrant lineup of screenings, runway shows, premieres, and industry conversations designed to spotlight Africa’s ever-evolving creative economy.
An initiative of Livespot Foundation and produced by Livespot360, EWA continues to position itself as the continent’s most inclusive platform for collaboration and storytelling. Last year’s film-centred edition drew major attention with exclusive premieres and masterclasses from industry heavyweights like Funke Akindele and Emmy-nominated cinematographer Nausheen Dadabhoy. This year, organisers are expanding the canvas even further, bridging film, fashion, comedy, and innovation under one roof.
At the heart of the festival lies The EWA Content Festival, a showcase of stories that define African cinema today. Highlights include ‘The Herd’ (Wednesday, Nov 19), a gripping drama that follows Gosi’s descent into chaos after a shocking kidnapping; ‘Chronicles of Afrobeats’ (Thursday, Nov 20), a celebratory deep dive into one of Africa’s greatest cultural exports; and ‘Dust to Dreams’ (Friday, Nov 22), a highly anticipated private screening exploring resilience and rebirth.
Comedy lovers are not left out. Jokes N Jollof, happening Wednesday, Nov 19, brings together some of the funniest names in African stand-up for a night of roasts, rivalry, and raw Naija humour. The show also opens its stage to new voices through the JJC Comedy Auditions, where one emerging comedian will win ₦1 million and a spotlight performance on the EWA main stage, an opportunity to be scouted by SLK and join the ranks of Nigeria’s rising comedy stars.
Fashion takes over on Thursday, Nov 20, with The Runway Coterie, EWA’s signature fashion showcase spotlighting Africa’s most exciting designers. Expect bold aesthetics, cultural storytelling, and innovative craftsmanship from across the continent.
Beyond the glitz, EWA remains a space for growth and opportunity. Its Creative Job Fair, Deal Room, and Hackathons continue to bridge the gap between young creatives, investors, and industry leaders, cementing its reputation as more than just an entertainment festival but a creative economy incubator.
“Entertainment Week Africa is where Africa’s stories meet the world,” said Deola Art Alade, Founder of Livespot360 and EWA Convener. “This year, we’re expanding the canvas for creatives across film, comedy, and fashion while strengthening the ecosystem that sustains them.”
With over 53,000 attendees, 240 speakers, and a digital reach of 313 million, Entertainment Week Africa has become a vital meeting point for the continent’s cultural visionaries. Whether you’re a filmmaker, a fashion lover, a tech innovator, or simply here for the laughs and the vibes, EWA 2025 is where Africa’s creative pulse will be beating loudest this November.
