‘3 Cold Dishes’ Earns Best Actress and Best Screenplay Nods at Septimius Awards

The upcoming Pan-African revenge drama ‘3 Cold Dishes’ is already on the awards radar, snagging two high-profile nominations at the prestigious Septimius Awards. The film’s star, Osas Ighodaro, is up for Best Actress, while writer Tomi Adesina competes for Best Screenplay.

Directed by Asurf Oluseyi and executive produced by Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy, ‘3 Cold Dishes’ tells a heart-wrenching yet defiant story of redemption and empowerment. The film follows Esosa, Fatouma, and Giselle—three women who survive the horrors of sex trafficking only to rise to power in the underground world of prostitution. But their success cannot erase the trauma of their past, and they are determined to hunt down the men who once sold them into slavery.

The production, which spanned multiple African countries, unites an ensemble of celebrated actors, including Osas Ighodaro, Wale Ojo, Femi Jacobs, Fat Toure, Maud Guerard, and Amelie Mbaye. With its Pan-African scope, gritty realism, and emotional core, the film has been tipped as one of the year’s most ambitious Nollywood-led projects.

For Oluseyi, the nominations mark a significant milestone in the journey of a film he hopes will resonate far beyond African audiences. “We didn’t set out to just make a film,” he said. “We set out to create a title that would live forever—to win both the critics and audiences at the box office. And it looks like the journey has officially begun.”

Since the release of its teaser, ‘3 Cold Dishes’ has been generating buzz for its unflinching storytelling and the crossover of Nollywood talent with continental and global appeal.
