Social media is buzzing with excitement after the release of the captivating trailer for Inkblot Production’s much-anticipated film, ‘When Love Strikes.’ Set to hit cinemas on September 13, 2024, the movie is already being praised by critics as an inspiring and impactful story, marking Nigeria’s first significant entry into football-themed cinema.
‘When Love Strikes’ was produced in collaboration with Get Reel Production, owned by actor Eku Edewor, and features a star-studded cast led by AMVCA-winning actor Osas Ighodaro and rising star Natse Jemide, best known for his role in Netflix’s ‘Far From Home.’
The film also boasts standout performances from a powerful ensemble, including Bimbo Akintola, Zubby Michael, Sunshine Rosman, Jimmie Akinsola, Vine Olugu, Chuks Joseph, Taye Arimoro, Demola Adedoyin, and Suo Chapele.
The electrifying trailer, showcasing scenes from the film, follows a teaser that had already ignited anticipation within the Nigerian film community.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Adeoluwa Owu (aka Captain Degzy), co-director of the record-breaking ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ the film boasts a heavyweight production crew. Inkblot co-founders Chinaza Onuzo, Zulumoke Oyibo, and Damola Ademola also serve as executive producers.
‘When Love Strikes’ was co-written by Chinaza Onuzo and Joy Bewaji, the acclaimed screenwriter behind ‘A Weekend To Forget’, from a story by Damola Ademola, Eku Edewor, and Bewaji. The film was shot on location in Lagos and Ikenne, Ogun State, with support and sponsorship from Remo Stars FC, Bet9ja, and Pepsi.
