Victor Boniface, Wilfred Ndidi, and Frank Onyeka Launch ‘The Culture League’ Talk Show

When Victor Boniface isn’t lighting up Bundesliga defences, he wants to talk music and memes with Frank Onyeka and Wilfred Ndidi in the group chat. That chemistry — the banter, the behind-the-scenes gist — is now going public through a new talk show: The Culture League.

Launching on July 11, 2025, the new weekly talk show puts three of Nigeria’s top football stars in the host seat, swapping cleats for culture as they sit down with celebrities across music, fashion, film, and beyond. But this isn’t your regular late-night format. The Culture League is raw, fast-paced, and proudly unfiltered — capturing the way Nigerians actually talk, flex, and relate.

Produced by Webek Studios in collaboration with Kini Media Group, The Culture League is more than just sportsmen dabbling in showbiz. It’s a cultural pivot — one that positions Nigerian athletes as voices in the broader creative conversation. And with guests like Osas Ighodaro, Basketmouth, Bovi, Odumodublvck, Falz, and VJ Adams lined up, the crossover potential is real.

For Esse Akwawa, CEO of Webek Studios, the show is about breaking silos. “We wanted to create a space where footballers, artists, and creatives could speak freely — not as brands, but as people. Inspiring the next wave of Nigerian talent with humour, tension, and insight, but most of all, truth.”

That sense of truth extends to the format, as the show is designed for YouTube, Gen Z, and anyone tired of scripted celebrity interviews. “It’s the flair of the locker room meets the honesty of backstage,” says Webek’s Creative Director, Edith Nwekenta. “It’s the kind of show that reflects how people want to engage today — with real people, real stories, and an unapologetically Nigerian point of view.”

Beyond the star power and surface-level gist, The Culture League speaks to something deeper: a generation of Nigerian creatives refusing to be boxed. These footballers aren’t just endorsing culture. They’re helping to define it — one episode at a time.

Watch new episodes on the Webek Studios YouTube channel from July 11.
