Netflix has announced its first-ever African podcast, “Never Late African Time.”
According to the official statement, the podcast will feature conversations with “Africa’s foremost talent, talking all things industry as the performers share their personal stories in and away from the limelight.”
Following the streaming giant’s subscribers loss in Q1 2022, this is another effort from Netflix to build more awareness and increase its subscribers in African countries. Remember that Netflix also announced its first Nigerian series, “Blood Sisters,” is coming May 6.
And Netflix’s new African podcast promises to do just that, as the hosts with other African movie and TV stars talk all things African stories, celebrating our content, and how our continent is the next frontier.
The new teaser featured Nollywood stars Kemi Adetiba, Sharon Ooja, Ini Dima-Okojie, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Kunle Remi, and Nancy Isime.
South African stars Israel Matseke-Zulu, Candice Modiselle, as well as Kenyan actress, Catherine Kamau Karanja, were also seen among others.
South Africa’s Andy Maqondwana and Zweli Mbhele will host the five-episode podcast, with new episodes released every Wednesday from May 4.
“Never Late African Time” is available on AfricaOnNetflix YouTube page, Spotify and Apple. Watch the teaser below.
