Watch: Burna Boy Introduces ‘3 Cold Dishes’ Trailer as Osas Ighodaro Hunts Wale Ojo Across Borders

The first official trailer for Asurf Oluseyi’s long-awaited thriller ‘3 Cold Dishes’ has arrived, opening with Burna Boy’s unmistakable voice.

The Grammy-winning artist appears on screen after the popular voiceover from his 2020 track ‘Monsters You Made’ before declaring, “3 Cold Dishes. The official trailer drops in 3, 2, 1, pow.” From there, the trailer plunges into a story of vengeance that spans decades, countries, and scars that refuse to fade.

Set against the backdrop of Nigeria, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mauritania, ‘3 Cold Dishes’ follows three women, played by Osas Ighodaro, Fat Toure, and Maud Guerard, as they attempt to settle old scores tied to trauma, survival, and betrayal. “It’s about time. It’s about reason. And there’s three of them,” Ighodaro says in the trailer, summing up the film’s central promise.

The tense two-minute, 48-second preview cuts between past and present: Ruby Akubueze as a younger version of Ighodaro’s character in captivity, Amelie Mbaye narrates in French about attempted escapes, and Fat Toure vows retribution.

Violence erupts across borders as the women hunt down Wale Ojo’s character and their traffickers, the men tied to their shared history. Explosions, shootouts, and betrayals push the revenge narrative into action-thriller territory.

‘3 Cold Dishes’ also stars Femi Jacobs and Mentor Ba and features an international ensemble with dialogue in English and French.

The film was co-produced by Asurf Films, Burna Boy, and Bose Ogulu’s Space Films, in partnership with Nexthought Studios, Ifind Pictures (France), Black Mic Mac (France), Martian Network (The Netherlands), and Alma Production (Cote d’Ivoire). It also received backing from MBO Capital, while Ighodaro co-produced through her Imuetinyan Productions.

Oluseyi directs from a screenplay, written by Tomi Adesina, exploring the consequences of trafficking, exploitation, and the long shadow of violence.

The film has already picked up recognition ahead of its release, including two Septimius Awards nominations and selection as part of the six Nigerian titles presented to global buyers at TIFF 50. It is expected to continue its international rollout through festival and theatrical runs.

Following the recent seven-day road trip adventure, the film is set for its world premiere on October 3 at Cineworld Cinemas O2 in London, with tickets currently on sale for audiences eager to catch the first screening.

After its UK debut, ‘3 Cold Dishes’ will roll out theatrically across West Africa, France, and other territories. It starts showing in cinemas from November 7 in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Kenya, Cameroon, and the United Kingdom.

From November 28, audiences in Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Benin, Togo, DRC, Uganda, Rwanda, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Tunisia, Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Djibouti will also experience the thriller before its Canadian premiere on December 16, 2025.

Nollywire has followed the project closely from its early production stages to Burna Boy’s in the teaser unveiling at Stade de France; anticipation continues to build for Oluseyi’s most ambitious project yet.

The trailer ends on a striking image: Osas Ighodaro, Fat Toure, and Maud Guerard’s getaway car tumbling off a cliff and crashing onto the rocks below. It’It is a haunting final beat that raises the central question of the film: will their pursuit of vengeance bring them justice or consume them entirely?
