The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has announced that Bolanle Austen-Peters will deliver the keynote address at the 5th edition of the Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Nigerian Digital Content Regulatory Conference (PAO NDCRC). The event is scheduled for November 18–19, 2025, at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
This year’s conference will be held under the theme “From Volume to Value: Future of Nollywood in the Digital Age”. Discussions will focus on how Nigeria’s film and creative industries can strengthen sustainability, improve quality, and deepen value creation in a digital-first environment.
Austen-Peters, a theatre and film producer widely known as BAP, will lead conversations on Nollywood’s shift from high output to sustainable value creation. Her keynote is expected to set the agenda for two days of panels and debates involving regulators, policymakers, creatives, academics, and investors.
Austen-Peters is recognised for her work in both stage and screen. She is the founder of Terra Kulture and BAP Productions and has staged acclaimed productions such as ‘Saro the Musical’ and ‘Fela & the Kalakuta Queens’. Her film credits include ‘The Bling Lagosians’ and ‘Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti’. Her projects have toured internationally, gaining attention for expanding the reach of African storytelling and presenting Nigerian culture to global audiences.
NFVCB’s Executive Director, Dr Shaibu Husseini, described Austen-Peters as an ideal choice for the keynote, pointing to her combination of creativity, innovation, and business insight. “Her remarkable contributions to theatre and film demonstrate the kind of value-driven storytelling that this year’s conference theme champions. We are confident her keynote will inspire bold thinking and set the right tone for the future of our industry,” he said.
Since it began, the PAO NDCRC has become a national platform for discussions on film, content regulation, and the digital future of Nollywood. The 4th edition, held in Lagos in November 2024, featured Mo Abudu as the keynote speaker, reinforcing the conference’s reputation as a space for influential voices in Nigeria’s creative sector.
