According to Africa International Horror Film Festival official announcement, the goal of the upcoming second edition themed ‘Our Voice. Story and Identity,’ is to “reawaken the consciousness among African filmmakers and industry stakeholders on the need to explore other forms of storytelling deeply rooted in African culture and tradition.”
The events lined up for the festival include film screenings, masterclasses, panel discussions, workshops, award presentations and the Afroween Party.
For this second edition, the committee revealed the awards will be the following categories:
- Best Feature;
- Directing;
- Cinematography;
- Editing;
- Special Effects;
- Musical Score;
- Best Animation;
- Best Short;
- Audience choice Award;
- Best Experimental Film; and
- Best Student Film
