Oriyomi and Ifelolu meet as teenagers living in the same neighbourhood in Lagos. Oriyomi is an only child and an orphan, while Ifelolu is also an only child, having lost her only sibling to an undisclosed disease. They become inseparable despite an initial betrayal when Ifelolu ‘steals’ Oriyomi’s crush. Years later, Ifelolu a photographer, and Oriyomi a baker, launch a successful events management business, through which they meet their husbands. Oriyomi begins to face challenges in her marriage and Ifelolu suggests a way to help Oriyomi save it. They vow to keep their decision a secret, but their lives start to implode, as the breadth of their deceit unravels in front of them. They turn on each other; Oriyomi convinced that Ifelolu had manipulated her. Their friendship disintegrates, and a vicious court case ensues.
