Kesari is a fun movie to watch. If you are interested in watching a supernatural story meet Robin Hood in “our” style, this is one for you. Just don’t get your hopes up and go in with an open mind.

What I liked:

– The special effects though still not fully refined were quite pleasing to look at. From the “powered” Kesari moments to some artefacts in the film, it was nicely done.Show more

– The acting from the top billed cast were really good though generic and typical of many of them at this point.

What I had issues with:

– The movie had very sub par sound design; from trying to accentuate every action, punch or kick and the eulogies and mood shifts, it was very distracting. The transitions were jarring and sometimes we had three layers of sound with two or sometimes the three having actual dialogue. Kesari’s “god-mode” sound was not pleasing to listen to either.

– The background actors didn’t do the film any justice as it was very obvious they were either inexperienced or nervous. From acting mechanically to breaking the fourth wall several times.

– There were a lot of layers the story did not need and it created plot holes. A lot of scenes and characters could have been cut out and the film would still have the exact same meaning.

– The story was very typical of the usual “police and thief” films. The thief kills and does a lot damage but because it is for a good cause, it justifies it.
