She rose to prominence with her first screenplay, Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, which earned her the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) for Best Writing. She followed with Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story, further cementing her reputation as a leading screenwriter in Nollywood.
Born in the UK, Asinugo studied law at the University of Nottingham and trained in journalism at the London School of Journalism before building a career in advertising and digital media. She served as lead editor and content producer at Ndani TV, where she launched Ndani Lifestyle and hosted Real Talk, before joining Expo 2020 Dubai as a storyteller and content curator, developing immersive narratives for global audiences.
In 2024, she launched Write Good Stories—a storytelling studio and writers’ lab designed to help emerging writers develop emotionally grounded, structurally strong screenplays. Backed by the Osa Okunbo Foundation, the programme offers a 12-week workshop and financial support for selected writers to fully commit to their craft.
Her directorial debut, God Knows Best, marks a new chapter in her creative journey, reaffirming her belief that even the smallest stories—when told with honesty and depth—can have the greatest impact.
