Ireti Osayemi, originally from Lagos State, Nigeria, returned from Liberia with her parents during the Liberian civil war. She completed her education in Lagos, attending Ajumoni Secondary School after primary school, where she obtained her West African Leaving Certificate.
Later, she pursued higher education at Lagos State University in Ojo, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.
In 1999, Ireti Osayemi ventured into the Nigerian film industry, popularly known as Nollywood. She became a prominent figure in Yoruba films, often sharing the screen with notable actors such as Funke Akindele, Eniola Badmus, and Odunlade Adekola.
