In 1988, Mr Latin began his acting career. Transitioning to comedy in 1991, he earned the moniker "Mr. Latin" after mistakenly speaking French in the 1992 film "50-50", which Akin Ogungbe misinterpreted as Latin.
He has since produced over 40 films, mostly comedies, and serves as CEO of Mr. Latin TV and the Mr. Latin Foundation.
Latin joined the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners in 1989, later renamed the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria. After holding various local positions, he served as the governor for Ogun State chapter from 2006 to 2010. He then assumed roles as director for organization and business, eventually being elected president in 2018.
