As the eight Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) night ceremony draws near, we have put together everything that will be happening before the ceremony on May 14, 2022.
Following the decision by MultiChoice to suspend the awards last year, due to COVID-19, the eight AMVCA is returning. However, Africa Magic, in association with Multichoice, is making up for it with these eight-day series of events in celebration of fashion, technology, food and African culture.
AMVCA 8 Award Week Calendar
The eight-day event will commence with an Opening Night on Saturday, May 7, 2022. And on Sunday, May 8, there’ll be the first-ever AMVCA Runway Show in partnership with Bella Naija Style.
The award week events will continue on Monday, May 9 with Young Filmmakers’ Day, which will include movie screenings and panel discussions by students of the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy.
Africa Magic will host industry stakeholders to a special Content Market Day on Tuesday, May 10. Furthermore, they’ll announce the winners of the Content Creators’ Day competition at a brunch on Wednesday, May 11, to spotlight the growing popularity of online content creators.
On Thursday, May 12, Africa Magic has invited all vendors of African dishes, fabrics, artwork, drinks, fashion and accessories to their cultural day, A Celebration Of Africa’s Diversity.
Finally, the nominees of the eight AMVCA will be hosted to a special Nominees’ Gala on Friday, May 13, before crowning the series of events with the Awards Night ceremony on Friday, May 14.
We are excited to have the AMVCA back, celebrating all the players that are pushing the African film and television industry forward.
