Tolu Odewumi is a fast-rising Nollywood actress known for her compelling performances across

television and film. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, to parents from Ekiti State, Nigeria,

she relocated to Nigeria at the age of three. Her talent was recognised early, she earned a

scholarship in primary school for her outstanding contributions to the arts. She attended

Igbinedion Education Centre in Benin City for secondary school, before returning to the United

States to graduate with a B.A. in Performing Arts from Saint Mary's College, Moraga, California.

While in the US, Odewumi honed her craft through stage plays, community theatre, and African

dance recitals in California and New York. She is best known for her series regular role in the

popular Africa Magic telenovela Jemeji (2017–2018, 258 episodes). Her other credits include

Enakhe, Ireti (2024), Something Sweet (2025), Tinsel, Lekki Wives, Hush, and the feature film Win

or Lose. She is also active as a plus-size model and dancer.

In Alabaaru, Odewumi plays Madam Charity, an elegant corporate executive whose chance

encounter with Ashabi in the market evolves into an unexpected friendship, offering not just

financial help but the dignity of being seen.
