Lagos, Nigeria. Take One Productions is thrilled to announce the official premiere event of their latest captivating short film, ‘Ihunanya’m‘ (My Love). The premiere is set to take place at EbonyLife Place in Victoria Island, Lagos, on October 7, 2023.
‘Ihunanya’m’ delves into the lives of two passionate lovers, Ikenna and Ihunanya, who find themselves deeply in love but torn apart by conflicting dreams and aspirations. Their separation leads to a shocking mystery that shatters the once-unbreakable bond they shared. The film explores poignant themes such as the pursuit of passion, the weight of separation, and the agony of betrayal.
Written by Fisayo Ojabodu, directed by the visionary Abiodun Odu, and produced by Heavens Obule-led Take One Productions, ‘Ihunanya’m’ promises to be another satisfying short film following the success of ‘Onajite,’ ‘Trigger,’ and ‘For My Mama.’
Set in the early 1990s in the Eastern region of Nigeria, the film offers a nostalgic, captivating, and compelling narrative of Ikenna and Ihunanya. While Ikenna opts for a quiet life in the local environment, Ihunanya embarks on a journey to the bustling city of Lagos in pursuit of her dreams and ambitions.
‘Ihunanya’m’ immerses viewers in the vibrant display of the Igbo culture and showcases performances by Chikamma R.C. and Celia Okechukwu, bringing the characters and their journey to life.
The premiere event will kick off with a glamorous red carpet event at 6 PM, followed by the screening of the film at 7 PM. A panel session featuring reputable filmmakers, as well as the cast and crew of ‘Ihunanya’m,’ will provide insights into the creative process and the film’s significance.
