Scarlet Gomez, is the daughter of Adetokunbo "Toks" Shotade, a renowned music producer and sound engineer, who influenced her early musical career. She studied Business Administration at the University of Lagos.
She participated in various pageants, including Miss Nigeria, Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, and Miss Global Nigeria, where she finished as the First Runner up. In 2012, she won the Miss United Nations Tourism pageant in Kingston, Jamaica. Scarlet briefly entered the music industry as a video model in 2013, debuting in Timi Dakolo's "Love Song" and releasing her single "Catch Me." She then ventured into Nollywood, making her acting debut in the Africa Magic original series "Scarlet" in 2014.
In 2016, Scarlet released her studio album, "The Scarlet Letter" through Knighthouse Entertainment. She joined the cast of the M-Net production drama series "My Flatmates" the same year. On January 4, 2023, Showmax announced Scarlet as the lead actor in its first Nigerian telenovela series, "Wura," scheduled to premiere on January 23. Her performance in "Wura" earned her a nomination at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards in the Best Actress in a Drama, Movie Or TV Series category on April 16, 2023.
