Emem rose to prominence when she was crowned the 2011/2012 Calabar Carnival Queen on December 23, 2011, sponsored by First Bank of Nigeria. Following her win, she secured an ambassadorial deal, becoming Calabar’s Tourism Ambassador and spokesperson for Mothers Against Child Abandonment, an initiative of the Wife of the former Governor of Cross River State, Obioma Liyel-Imoke. Besides her ambassadorial roles, Emem ventured into acting and has since appeared in numerous Nollywood movies.
