THE STORY
Elesin Oba (The King's Horseman)
Set in the Oyo Empire, between sunset and sunrise, the King’s horseman, Elesin Oba, must commit ritual suicide to follow his deceased king into the afterlife. His best intentions are derailed by his sexual desires, which leads to catastrophic consequences and ends in a deadly clash with the British rulers of the day. The horseman is unable to fulfil his ultimate commitment to the king, leaving his spirit to roam the earth, spelling doom for the land and its people.

“Loved this movie. The story was simple. Love how it was presented as a stage play, and the music as well?Brymo was brilliant!”

“They got alot of things right but the my story didn't really add up. First off, how did the European and Elesin oba understand each other? Why did Elesin' son comit suicide? How did they easily reach a decision to wed a lady who was already spoken for by another man to him. I just didn't understand the storyline. I believe that it was too chaotic.”
