Biography

Bose Ogulu is a Nigerian academic, businesswoman, translator, and talent manager. She holds a BA in Foreign Languages and an MA in Translation from the University of Port Harcourt. Her early career included work as a translator for organizations such as the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce, and she led a language and music school called Language Bridges, organizing cultural immersion trips for over 1,800 participants. She taught French at the University of Education in Port Harcourt for a decade, retiring in 2018.

She is the daughter of Benson Idonije, noted broadcaster and first manager of Fela Kuti. She manages the musical careers of her son Burna Boy (Damini Ogulu) and her daughter Nissi Ogulu, inheriting the nickname “Mama Burna”. Ogulu founded Spaceship Collective, the holding company for Spaceship Records and Spaceship Publishing.

Her work in artist management has earned her several industry accolades, including Manager of the Year at the Artists & Manager Awards (2022), Special Recognition at The Headies (2022), and the History Maker Award at the Best of Africa Awards (2023)
